Mare Owner must complete and return the Stallion Breeding Contract along with the Shipped Cooled Semen Addendum and booking fee.
All fees and costs must be paid before semen will be shipped.
Payment for the first shipment of cooled semen is included in the Stallion’s breeding fee.
In the event additional shipments of cooled semen are required to settle the mare, there is a non-refundable fee of $200.00 for each additional shipment of cooled transported semen. Freight charges to and from the ranch for each shipment of semen are at the mare owners expense. These charges are dependent upon shipper used. These fees are to be paid when the additional shipment is ordered.
There is a one-time refundable container fee of $300.00 which will be returned to you after you advise the Farm that your mare has been confirmed in foal. The Equitainer must be Fed Ex'ed back to Breeding Farm within 5 business days of receipt. After five days a late fee of $50.00 per day will be deducted from your container deposit. This is not a guarantee that an Equitainer will be used, as in some cases use of a disposable container may be preferable, in which case the fee for the disposable container will be charged per shipment.
The purchaser is entitled to 2 semen shipments per estrus cycle, for no more than 3 cycles per breeding season.
Shipment requests are to be made no later than 5:00 p.m. PST the day prior to the requested collection date. Late orders are not guaranteed. You may cancel a shipment by 8:00 a.m. of the shipping day. During breeding season our shipping days are every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Semen orders will be filled in this order of priority.
- All mares on premises of Harmony Performance Horses will be serviced first
- If there is sufficient semen to fill all orders of a given day, the ranch manager will determine which orders will be honored. This decision will be based on the information provided by the purchaser’s veterinarian.
- Harmony Performance Horses requires that you notify the breeding manager when the mare first shows signs of heat.
- Harmony Performance Horses also requires notification by the purchaser’s veterinarian the day before the desired collection.
- Conditions
- Semen shall be provided only to healthy mares in sound breeding condition as determined by a veterinarian.
- In the event the mare is barren, open, not a maiden, Harmony Performance Horses recommends the submission of a recent negative intrauterine culture and biopsy.
- Purchaser agrees to have the mare examined for pregnancy by ultrasound and submit such results along with insemination and conception reports to Harmony Performance Horses within 14-16 days after ovulation of that cycle. In the event the mare is barren, Harmony Performance Horses may require the submission of a negative intrauterine culture and/or biopsy and/or progesterone assay.
- Purchaser agrees to have mare examined for pregnancy by veterinarian at 28 days post ovulation and again at 60 days. Veterinarian must send confirmation via ultrasound picture to guarantee mare is in foal at 60 days for the Live Foal Guarantee in stallion contract to be in effect.
- It is understood that the burden of conception is placed almost entirely on the Mare Owner and their veterinarian. Purchaser agrees that chilled semen requires special handling and that attempts to breed any mare outside controlled conditions of an equine reproductive center can greatly reduce, and in some cases prevent, chances of conception.
- Purchaser agrees to return all insemination certificates to the Breeding Manager within 30 days of insemination.
Failure to comply could inhibit registration of resulting foal.
- This contract cannot be assigned or transferred by purchaser.
- Harmony Performance Horses and/or any of their employees are not held liable for delays in delivery, semen that is lost in shipment, or mishandled in any manner after it leaves Harmony Performance Horses. Harmony Performance Horses makes no representatives or warranties of any kind with respect to semen except that it is by the stallion named in the Stallion Contract and is viable semen at the time of shipment
